Wow! Your little one isn’t so little anymore. They now have their own ideas, opinions, strategies, and interpretations of everything (and can tell you all about it). This is a great age to join child care. We focus many parts of our day on socialization and academics. We encourage the children to problem solve with little guidance, take risks, challenge new concepts, and implement new ideas. This age is all about discovery and we welcome it.
We use classroom management techniques to encourage independence. Not only do we work on writing, cutting, recognizing letters, numbers, words, etc. but we push for them to tie shoes, zip coats, ask for help, and much more. We even try to teach them responsibility with weekly “jobs.” The children love to be the line leader, book worm, meal time helper, and their favorite : Teacher helper. They love the feeling of accomplishing a task, and the pride they feel is rewarding to all involved.
Here at Kimbi’s we want to make sure your child is prepared for Kindergarten, and then some. We drive your child to do their best in many tasks and the outcome is amazing. The children become so confident and begin to reach out and help their peers. There is no greater feeling for a teacher then hearing a student say “I can help.” Moments like these teach a child how to be kind and it really builds their friendships. We are now seeing the children evolve as individuals, and continue to provide opportunities to grow and learn together.
